Hey there. Henry here, founder of Steady, with a quick video to show you the AI agents I have set up in Steady to run Steady the company.
So to set the stage, we’re a small company, all remote, spread across four time zones.
Our business is building and growing, Steady the platform.
We use Google Workspace for calendars, SSO, and email. We use Notion as a company wiki. We use Slack for messaging, Linear for project management, GitHub to store code, and of course, Steady to coordinate. There are a lot of other tools, but those are the main daily drivers.
In my job as founder and CEO, I’m spread across three functions, my favorite product, then growth, and finally, all of the operational stuff. So you can imagine there’s a lot of coordination there. But my time and energy is finite, and I want to spend as much of it as I can collaborating with my team and thinking very hard about prioritizing and executing the work that matters.
And these echoes allow me to do that. First, you can see I have echoes set up to brief me before one on one meetings. One on ones are the most important meetings in any company, but let’s face it, managers never find time to prepare for them properly.
With this echo, I know what Adam’s up to, his goals, any blockers he’s faced. And so with all of that out of the way, I can spend our time really listening to him and working with him rather than just collecting a status update.
At the end of the week, I get a brief on what the product team worked on and what the growth team worked on in plain terms without jargon.
This is really important context for me as I try and figure out short and long term priorities.
You can also see some other meeting prep here. I have echo set up for an all hands once a week, a retro once a month, and a growth meeting once a week.
As a remote team, our time together is crucial. It’s not just about having important conversation. It’s also about building trust through human interaction.
These briefs allow me the time to optimize for that.
And as you can see here, Steady also gives me an icebreaker question of the week that I can also, use in my in my meeting. So we’re a product company with a product that constantly evolves through independent work by really smart people.
This brief called ship this week ties together in plain terms what we ship to our customers without me having to dip into CICD and interpret that all on my own. It’s incredibly useful.
I’m always trying to be a better colleague, manager, and leader, so I ship myself personal progress and I encourage everyone on my team to do the same.
This way, I’m accumulating a record of my accomplishments and challenges. And by the way, here’s how to share a preset like that with others. Not the answer that’s up to you, but the preset.
So as you can imagine, this is not only saving me hours and hours and hours of my time, but it’s allowing me to direct my energy at the things that really move the needle at steady. Thanks for watching.
